Fashioned

When conceiving a design, I think about and consider all body shapes and forms. I focus on geometry and symmetry and how each design can be manipulated to accommodate a variety of shapes. Keeping in mind timelessness and comfort, to ensure the garment can be worn for many years.

Patterning and fitting all take place in my studio and are usually undertaken by me. This stage of creation makes up the majority of the process which I value as the most important. A well fitting garment ensures comfort, versatility and ultimately flatters the form.

Fit

Fabric

I guide clients through fabric selections, colour combination, texture and patterns, and the best fabric composition suitable for the design. Other design considerations such as appliqué, embroidery and buttons, are regarded to complement the fabric or enhance the design line in the garment.

After the design fit, fabric and construction, quality buttons, trims, detail, hand finishing and lining add to the garment’s substance. This completes the garment’s finesse and how it presents on the body.
